Helping Hands

We are overwhelmed and grateful for the emails and phone calls flooding our office, expressing your desire to help those affected by Hurricane Florence. Thank you. While we're drying out and cleaning up here on Holden Beach, many of our neighbors on the mainland are experiencing terrible losses.

Some are trapped in their homes, unable to get out due to flooding on their property and in their neighborhoods, and being hampered by road closures. Others are living in shelters, displaced by flooding, waiting for the waters to recede in order to return to their property to assess and, hopefully, clean up to make their homes liveable again. Others have lost everything by water, winds, and even fire.

We cannot say thank you enough to our Brunswick County Emergency Managment team, all the first responders, National Guardsman, utility workers, and amazing private citizens who have traveled from all over the United States to help. They are working tirelessly to restore utilties and ensure everyone's safety.

Hobbs Realty is open to receive and distribute much needed non-perishable food and personal items such as:

  • Diapers (adult & child)
  • Toiletries
  • Feminine Items
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Gift Cards to Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Home Depot or Lowes Home Improvement

We will deliver your donations to local shelters and to the Waccamaw Fire Department which is going into neighborhoods only accessible to emergency vehicles and boats.

To ensure your financial help is received by those here in Brunswick County, you may earmark donations as Hurricane Relief and send to our local Brunswick Family Assistance or to Sharon United Methodist ChurchBoth are are hard at work on the front lines, helping those in need in our area, and will ensure the funds are used specifically to support the hurricane relief work here in our communities.

We are grateful for your concern and generosity.

Blessings from the Beach!
Jimmy and Rachele Hobbs
